New! Chabad.org in French!

We are pleased to announce that we have just launched another language version of Chabad.org - Chabad.org in French!

This brings the total of languages that Chabad.org services to four: English, Hebrew, German and now French.

Like all of the Chabad.org sites, this site features a weekly magazine with 4 or more new articles each week. Many other sections are also included including sections on Jewish Holidays, Ideas and Beliefs, Spirituality, Parsha and more.

Stay Logged In

Don't you hate to have to login every time you visit your favorite site to do basic viewing of your profile? Wouldn't it be easier to just stay logged in so you can save time and not have to enter yet another email/password combo? Who else besides me uses my computer anyway?

Well, we agree with you. That's why a new feature added today to the site enables you to stay logged in to your My.Chabad.org account. Now, this does not mean that you have compromised the security of your account in any way. Firstly, staying logged in is an optional checkbox, and mean for those people like me that hate having to login and have private PC's. Also, your logged in state will only get you as far as viewing your data, like calendar events and alerts, but not to actually edit your data.

So...what will you do with all that extra time? :)

New Section: Jewish Marriage

A new section recently unveiled on Chabad.org is "Jewish Marriage - Becoming One". This section is focused entirely on Judaism's take on love, relationships and the ultimate act of devotion, getting married.

The launch of the new section corresponded with Tu B'Av, the day in 1188 BCE that Jewish tradition marks as the end of a civil war between the tribe of Benjamin and the rest of the Jewish people. A decree banning intermarrying with the tribe was then lifted. The 15th day of the Hebrew month of Av was also when preparations for all of the wood for use in the Holy Temple for the following year was completed.

At this site you can peruse a wealth of material, from rabbinical advice to a wedding handbook outlining all of the traditional elements of a marriage ceremony, complete with a checklist and guidelines. There's even a section devoted to married life itself.

The site presents the reader with three "portals" depending on the reader's interests and situation: "Finding your Soulmate" for those that are looking to marry; "The Wedding" on how a Jewish Marriage ceremony itself is conducted, and more; and finally "Married Life" - how to enhance your union with spiritual and practical tips, with the special mitzvot of marriage, and by understanding the spiritual infrastructure of your relationship revealed in the teachings of sages and the kabbalistic masters.
