How Do You Define A Leader?

3 Tammuz

This Thursday, the 3rd of Tammuz, is the 15th yahrtzeit (anniversary of passing) of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, of righteous memory. In honor of this day, we present a special section that offers a glimpse of the Rebbe’s life and work, through essays, first-person accounts, pictures, video clips and more.

The Rebbe touched the lives of millions. He taught, advised, encouraged, and gave meaning to the lives of so many. And, most of all, he cared for every human being, and dearly loved every Jew.

This Wednesday night and Thursday, during the Rebbe's yahrtzeit, is a particularly auspicious time for all of us to reflect on the extraordinary lessons of the Rebbe's life and to try and perpetuate his enormous legacy of contagious love to all.

On this auspicious day, please join Jews worldwide in increasing in Torah study, prayer, and acts of charity. And in the merit of millions of acts of goodness, may we see the coming of Moshiach immediately.

New Section: Pidyon Haben - Redeeming the Firstborn Son

A Pidyon Haben, or "redemption of the firstborn son," is a ceremony wherein the father of a firstborn male redeems his son by giving a kohen (a priestly descendant of Aaron) five silver coins, thirty days after the baby's birth.

Join us as we guide you through this biblical rite. Our new Pidyon Haben Section has the What & Why we observe this ritual, it explains exactly when it is done and which firstborns "qualify" for redemption. We also describe the actual ceremony and have a "More..." folder with texts, tips, insights and multimedia.

Join us as we explore the Rebbe's life and teachings. Manuscripts, letters, firsthand experiences and more.
